iPhone and Bluetooth

Hi all, new to this Forum and am hoping somebody can help.

We have just purchased a lovely 2010 3L Z4. The media centre takes a lot of getting used to, but one key point that is really causing a problem is my iPhone/iPod and it's inability to be recognised when connecting via USB in our glovebox or centre console. I would have also thoguh music could be played via bluetooth from my iPhone, but it won't? I can get the telephone function to work via Bluetooth.

Any tips greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Hi and Welcome. Firstly the USB in the glovebox is for adding data to the hard drive, to listen to music from your iPhone or iPod you need to use the USB in the armrest. You also cannot stream your music over Bluetooth, only via a cable in the armrest.

You can get a snap in adaptor for the phone which can play music via this but the snap in adaptor for the phone costs more than the standard one without this function, also if you have your phone in a cover it needs to be removed before you can put it in the cradle.

I have streamed music over bluetooth but I have HTC android phone the downside was that email/sms to screen didnt work while i was streaming music
