I have had a 5s for ages... The 6's look massive!!

My missus is after a 5 if anyone is selling one... EE/orange..

Got a spare 5 and 5s now as both replaced by a 6s. The 5 is on EE at the moment, but both unlocked.

It depends my old sim only contract was £25 a month the phones like £700 odd it worked out about £30 more expensive for me to buy the phone outright with the sim only contract compared to the contract. But I know you can get cheaper sim only.

Doubles a bit of an overstatement it's so easy to unlock them it doesn't make any difference. Only takes 2 seconds and most phones come unlocked through contract anyway these days. Mine arrived yest on 02 and took a while for the sim to swap, so chucked an EE sim I had knocking around and worked fine.

Doubled in value when checking the sales value on the o2recycle website. Something like £80 when locked, or £160 when not.

Which phones?

The 5 is going on eBay for about 100-130, 5s about 150-80 for the 16gb models. Obviously recycle schemes are going to give you rock bottom prices.

iPhone 6 16gb are going for £400ish if not more.

The 5s 32 gb here is £85 when on EE, £147 unlocked:

Will probably eBay them.

Well suppose it's not terrible, but a quick eBay 32gb 5s are going for 230-250 so you'd be mad to use the recycle schemes.

It's so easy to unlock a phone anyone can do it and like I said especially iPhone they generally come straight from Apple and are unlocked so it's just an excuse to rip people off.

Why don't you buy the phones outright CJ? Upon resale, the unlocked ones are worth twice as much as well so you pay so much more in total for a contract phone.

I went through the numbers before this contract and it didn't work. While perhaps £5 a month less, I lost several add-ones and business support. With having broadband and replaced BT phone too the whole package just doesn't work to buy the iPhone.

Unlocking is free after 12 months too.

A few years ago buying seemed a sensible thing but all seems to have converged these days.

Ok, purely on O2 the additional cost for not outright buying on a like for like mobile package was £140 when I looked into it last week.

Did anyone preorder and receive one today?

I bought a 128gb silver and it arrived this morning! Absolutely love it!

+1 My 128GB Silver 6s arrived yesterday afternoon, upgrading from a 4S, so a world apart in terms of performance. Really like the 3D touch
