iPhone 6s to intravee

I am sure this has been posted before, but cannot seem to find any info.

I have been using my old iPod with the intravee install in my m roadster, I now have an iPhone 6s and would like to use this instead and charge it also whilst listening to music/podcasts etc. What connector do I need with the new style iPhone plug?

I would think you need the scosche connector to convert the voltage, and a 30-pin to lightning adapter - similar to the iPhone 5s requirements. Be careful with the adapter though, there are a lot of crappy ones about (especially on eBay) and you need one with full data pass through and voltage. I would be tempted to get the OEM Apple one.

I've often though about linking my iPhone to the intravee, but have stuck with an older iPod instead.

I bought an Apple OEM adaptor ages ago for my 5S, still works now with my 6S fine. I primarily use it for spotify though rather than itunes music.

You can use the 30pin to light ing adapter straight from the alpine cable but it wont charge.

I use the adapter from 30pin to 3pin (when they changed the pins) then a 30pin to lightning and plays and charges

Soooooo... I want to connect my work iPhone 6 to my intravee so I can use Spotify. I've been connecting my iPhone 4s using something similar to the scosche adapter linked above and an extension cable. Given it does data and charging, I figured I'd just get this adapter and plug it in between the extension cable and phone :

It says it does audio, power and synch (data)... But it doesn't work :(

I've obviously bought the wrong adapter, but which one should I get ? Does the Apple original one play music, without the headphone jack ? I thought it needed the jack adapter. And do I need a whole new extension cable ?

I am not technically competent with things like this, so detailed help from someone who has done it would be very welcome - thanks

I've tried those eBay specials with my old Bose and the intravee and found them to be fecking useless. There's another one in eBay that is a cable version that also doesn't work. I keep meaning to try the OEM Apple one but haven't got around to it as yet (I have one in a drawer and can test at the weekend). At the moment I'm just using an old iPod.

Sadly I don't have an old iPod - I've never had one... And in any case I'm now spotifying :D

I'm going to test it with a standard (old) iPhone lead and charger to see what happens - if it doesn't charge I'll be sending it back. I'll probably send it back anyway TBH, and shell out for the apple one.

Stangely, the dongle I bought charges when its plugged into a 30 pin mains charger, so it should work in the car. I am now very confused :(

Tried my iPhone 6S with the OEM connector and the scorche and intravee - charges, but music doesn't play. Strangely the MFSW control do change the tracks though...

Connector works great with my Bose Sounddock though. Puzzling.

Hmmmm. That's why I think you need the headphone jack as part of the adapter. Back to the drawing board :(

Update to this. I now have a genuine Apple 30 pin to lightning cable to get my iPhone 6 working in the car :

Though I bought mine from John Lewis and paid £35 :( ... But at least I know it's genuine. And it works with the intravee plugged into my existing 30 pin cable - power, music and control through the MSFW :trampoline:

In hindsight I could probably have bought this one :

http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter

However, the way I have the cables tucked, the one I bought works better. New brodit holder installed, Spotify on LOUD, all set for hooning next weekend :driving:

Sir Bing, I have just purchased that cable (via Amazon) and it works a dream, but won't charge my 8. Have you upgraded to a newer phone since the thread?

I think I still need a 12v-5v adapter, but the only ones I've seen are poor. anyone had more luck?

I have iphone 8 and connected to intravee which is charged and streams music and MFSW works

Intravee in boot behind carpet back wall with Alpine 420 unit, standard cable off 420 unit in boot with 5v charging adapter, then extended 30 pin cable through to centre console passenger side front with apple 30 pin to lighting short converter cable. Brodit phone holder.

I’ve read that this 5v adapter works well but don’t have personal experience of it so do your homework before buying.

I’ve got the Scosche one as well but you can’t get them new anymore. I found the one I linked to when researching for a friend. CableJive products are good I agree but expensive. I’ve used one of their extended cables to feed the input for the Intravee from the boot to the front of the cabin.

Hi guys,

Need a little help. Trying to connect my iPhone XS to my Z4M using intravee ii.
I manage to find a cable to convert from 30 pin to lighting (it was no easy) but the iPhone won’t charge.
What’s the voltage adaptor you are suggesting??

Regards!!

Ok. 5V.
I don’t know the intravee-alpine output. I don’t know if the 30 pin to lightning supports the output of the intravee-alpine.
All I know is the iPhone will not charge.

Anyone with this setting knows an adaptor or cable that will provide quality power for the iPhone to charge??

Regards.
