iPhone 6 Plus Bluetooth

Hi,

I have just changed my phone, and i've spent the last hour trying to pair it to the Bluetooth, but it won't recognise it.

I was able to connect my last two phones (both iPhones) without any problem.

01 - I've turned the car completely off
02 - i've activated the bluetooth on my phone
03 - i've pressed down the center console bluetooth button for 3-4 seconds
04 - i've turned the ignition to 1
05 - i've continued holding down the bluetooth button for a further 3-4 seconds

... however nothing appears on the radio or on my phone.

Has anyone else experienced any issues connecting an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus?

Thanks in advance for your help.

So you are saying that the car is not going in BT mode at all - as that is the first step before you even look at the phone.

I had some issues getting my iPhone 6 to connect but that was because I was trying it whilst the engine was running.

Yeah the car is not going into BT mode at all.

Just to confirm, when they keys are in the car the ignition is not turned at all, that is position 0?

When you turn the keys once, that is position 1?

From memory hold button on centre consol with ignition off for four seconds and turn on ignition then pair should appear

To delete old phone hold on to button for 10 seconds and you should be hear three beeps

I would look into that are first, as at this stage the car does not even want to go in pair mode - not relating to the iPhone 6.

I'm having some troubles pairing my 5s. I can get the car to search, and the phone to search but nothing happens and eventually it comes up with activate phone.

The car doesn't state that its in pairing mode, just 'searching' comes up, is that correct?

I also found it takes a few attempts to even get it searching.

I've tried holding down the Bluetooth button for 8-10 seconds and nothing is happening.

I understand that i have a problem with my Bluetooth and not my phone yet... however, I don't understand how my Bluetooth could have stopped working the day i change my phone over.

Any ideas?

I had and have trouble getting my car to enter pairing mode, but thats because the cable the runs from the cradle to the cars damaged :(

If i push the button with the door open nothing happens, I have to hold the button with the door just unlatched and it seems to work.

Has anyone been successful pairing an IPhone 6?

I have tried on many occasions this afternoon and nothing's happening. :|

Strange - my iPhone 6 has paired on all my cars fine. My E70 is obviously newer than the E86, but still - it also works on the E53.

Very strange, becoming very frustrating. Has anyone managed to pair an iPhone 6 with an E85/86? Done some research and there seems to be a common problem since the latest iOS update (Not just with BMW systems).

If anyone has any further info please share

It would appear that I spoke too soon.... Thought I would attempt to pair one last time and hey presto its worked!

Don't ask how, didn't do anything impartially different its just worked. If anyone else is having problems perseverance is the way :D
