iPhone 6 no network problem

Have you tried making sure that all your contacts are on the SIM not the phones storage? It was the same when I had an Android phone, after they updated the software it wouldn't work on the Insignia unless all contacts were on the sim.

Sorry for jumping in on the thread, but as standard the Z4 comes with "Bluetooth hands-free with USB audio interface" how does this work if you don't select to have the screen at the top and just have the storage cupboard there? Are you still able to use the phone hands free via the standard radio?

The question extends to the "Bluetooth hands-free with USB audio interface" which is also standard, where do you see the readouts without the big screen?

I used to have a 23i without the Idrive screen, my Samsung phone worked fine handsfree in that.

I can't remember now exactly how things were displayed, it must be on the radio display, but obviously there isn't as much information as with Idrive.

As advised by Dr John, its displayed via the radio display. You can access quite a bit of information, you just have to scroll a bit more to find what you are looking for. Also if you do not have the Satnav and only the business radio and you want to use voice dial you need to program this manually and this means recording your own voice and the number verbally too, whilst the Satnav system will use the phone book entries that are already there. Strange as the Business radio also accesses the phone book.

Sussed it.

It's a problem (bug) related to iCloud devices. Somehow having more than one Bluetooth capable device assigned to iCloud causes and issue with Bluetooth authentication in the car.

So I've removed my iPhone 5 device from iCloud.com and re-paired the iPhone six and all is well.

I suspect this is why some people do and some don't have issues due to whether they use the iCloud functionality.

Strange as I have iCloud on all my Apple Devices and they are all linked to one another by bluetooth and I used this to back up from my iPhone 5 to then restore to the 6. I went out and tried it again, paired up automatically when I got in and made a call via the idrive, no issues. All rather strange but I'm glad that you've got it sorted.

Just out of curiosity Manic, did you remove the iPhone 5 from the paired devices in the car prior to adding the 6?

Yes as mentioned earlier I tried every permutation of pairing/unpairing/restarting etc. Nothing worked. Until I found an article online where a developer/tester had similar issues and by removing old unwanted devices from iCloud it worked. I tried the same and it also worked. I'm sure Apple will address it in time and it won't be a future issue. Yet another bug found due to improper testing by Apple. Its not just BMW's it has a problem with, VW, Audi and a few other brand owners have reported the same issues.

THE ARTICLE: "I had trouble at first getting the iPhone 6 to work reliably with my car’s built-in Bluetooth. Apple gave me a solution, which involved removing old, unused devices from my far-larger-than-normal list of devices connected to iCloud. (The company said this had something to do with proper Bluetooth pairing on my particular car model.) But Bluetooth calling in the car worked fine after that. Apple says most customers aren’t likely to have this issue, but it is promising a bug fix soon."

I wasn't sure if the deleting phone also related to the iPhone 5. I deleted this first prior to installing but good to know what the solution to the issue is as i'm sure that there will be a few more with this issue.

Random this guy at work spent hours on friday trying to get his phone to work in his Audi a4, and same issue pairs but the calling could auto connect.

He gave up left a wired headset!

I'll let him know this trick tomorrow

So if I return my current phone to factory settings, does that remove it from iCloud?

Yes, because you'll remove your account details

Then when the new phone is restored from the back up from the Mac / PC it will have my data on it, then it should just be paired with the cars ?

I got the 6plus and its all linked with her 335 and my zed - the method of pairing is very slightly different in each car.
Never mind, it all functions as it should. I doubt MrsK will ever use the telephone in the car tho.
