Iphone 5

Hi all

Just picked up my new z4. I want to be able to listen to music on my iphone in the car and, from the previous threads, it seems the best way to do that is to retrofit an aux input.

In the meantime, can anyone recommend one of those devices which bolts on to the phone and transmits the sound to a radio frequency? Fairly garbled explanation but sure you know what I mean.

Thanks

Will

I wouldn't recommend any - I've had two and they were both rubbish - very very low output and poor sound :(

Also used two belkin devices, not impressed with them at all. Far better using an integrated system or aux input

aux in route
pros:
can attach any device to your z4's sound system.
cheap

cons:
won't charge your device
will definitely have interference during music playback when you charge your phone on the cigarette lighter

new head unit route
pros:
alternative music playing via blutooth, sd card, usb (flash drive or hdd), dvd with screen, gps using your iPhone, etc.
tunability in your sound system
charges your iphone without interference in music
price depends on your desired headunit and its features

cons:
non stock dash look.

that is why after years of aux in, i went with the headunit route

Or, add a mediabridge and hide the USB/aux cables away somewhere. Keeps the stock dash look if you hide the cables well (in the ashtray here) and adds the USB playing, bluetooth and ability to charge the iPhone.
