iPhone 5 sled replacement ?

2010 -
I have the iPhone 5 (i think) adapter sled in my center counsle. It pops out.
Has anyone replaced it with anything more useful, either to save room or update it?

I'm sure the base port could get an adapter or just be rewired for a different connector.

Was wondering what others have done.

It’s possible to install a storage bin in it’s place, several owners on here have done this :thumbsup:

It can have a wireless charger installed in its place. OE fitment and wires in to the original current wiring :thumbsup:
