iphone 5 Not Working with BMW Y Cable

Tried to use my new iphone 5 using my bmw Y aux cable. Bought a adaptor for the new phone to take it from 30 pin to fit the iphone 5, charges phone but won`t play music. Anyone had this problem & a fix ?

Did you buy adapter off eBay, I ordered one but the supplier told me that all of them are faulty and don't play music. Bought one from apple works fine.
 
Yes got it from eBay. Will contact seller & see what they say. How much was it from apple ?
 
many of them say that audio is not supported - there are so many of them that its hard to find one that does everything we need...im still on the hunt...

I have a "Y" cable and a Apple adapter for my iPhone 5 and it works just fine... :thumbsup:

The apple adapter includes the digital to analogue chip necessitated by the iPhones digital output so that you can play on any device.
