iPhone 5 & Bluetooth

Hi, I just got a new iPhone... I backed up my old iPhone and the. Restored the new iPhone from it... was I being silly thinking that my new phone would have connected straight away to the Bluetooth in the car... can't seem to even pair the new one now

Changed iPhone recently and it was the same, it's a security thing. As you are restoring to a new handset and not the one you made a backup from it will need pairing again. It will also ask you for all your wifi passwords again and maybe some other passwords too. It's in case somebody restores your backup to their phone.

Each Bluetooth transceiver has a unique ID and when you pair a device you're linking two unique devices. As far as your car goes, quite often you'll get success if you go through the process to delete all previous pairings.

Good luck!

Can tell you in two weeks when mine finally turns up :(

I ordered mine online the day after they were released and still haven't got yet, so.........I called my local store and they have plenty of stock, you have to 'register/reserve' the phone online and then go in and collect the next day.

Online order cancelled and off to Southampton to collect my phone tomorrow!

EDIT: I was doing this but got no response and then they stopped it some gave up. I'll have to give it a try when it opens at 9am tomorrow :D

Also for those who use it, Tapatalk for iOS have just released an update to make the most of the bigger screen on the 5...

Good to know, thanks

How many times or how long did it take to pair? Tried earlier but no dice. Do I have to delete any profiles in the cars system? If so where are they?

I had to clear all pairings in car and then re-paired with iP5 worked perfectly then and since

Hi guys,

I'm new to the Forum and in fact new to the Z4 which we bought 2 days ago.

We have the Business Sat Nav & Telephone Prep etc...

I have an iphone 5 and amd struggling to understand how to setup the bluetooth properly. unfortunately we didn't get a manual with the car so it has made the process that little bit harder.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Justin

iPhone 5 definitly compatible with my 06 30Si. i did mine in 3 seconds on Tuesday.

Hold down bluetooth button and turn ign on (dont start). let go of bluetooth button after 1 second. ensuring that bluietooth is in discover mode on iBlower.

when it finds car, pair, enter code and bingo!

mine took seconds!
