iPhone 3G Bluetooth Pairing

Hi all,

Another newbie asking questions I'm afraid
I know there are many posts on this subject already but haven't found a definitive answer as of yet.

Has anybody managed to successfully pair an iPhone 3G with a 2006 56 plate Z4? From what I can tell I either have the 9th or 10th gen Bluetooth module. But so far cant even get the phone to recognise the car!
If anyone has then are there any tricks or tips you can give me?

BMW have said it might need a software upgrade, but car hasnt been in yet and to be honest I dont trust them as far as I can throw em!

Can't help on that specific phone but when I retrofitted mine I purchased a Generation 12 and that worked on an iphone I had for 10 days.

No such thing as a software upgrade on bluetooth from dealers, so I'd be interested in what they proposed to upgrade. Probably just the Sat Nav operating system...

If you give me the part number off the ULF I'll tell you what generation you have.
