It's really slow on my iPad 2. Also, it has fecked up my home screen and when I try to choose it again I can't see the actual photos, so have had to guess to find the right one.... Then it won't let me move and scale it the way I want it to be. So far :headbang: :headbang:

We have work ipad2's which have been running on this with no performance issues.

You will prob have to wipe and restore it.

Mine whined on about imessage a half dozen times and then stopped. Most annoying feature so far is that email locks up for several seconds while updating. prior iOS allowed you to at least read emails etc while it was updating...

Email is my only minor niggle. Used to be able to swipe then delete. Seems I now have to read it then delete.

I also don't like the fact that if you have multiple emails in a thread, the only way to tell is by two little >> rather than > for a single emails.

The older IOS had a number by it to notify how many emails in the thread, which was much easier to see!

Yeah i preferred that feature.. but i have forgotten all about that now.

The split messages (txt and imessage) is my only real complaint.

Installed on my iPad 3 without a hitch last night, however iPhone 4s has been stuck on 'Estimating time remaining' since 8pm last night.

Comments so far:
  • Not overly-impressed with the look of it, but I'm sure I'll get used to it - just as I got used to the visual differences between OS9 and OS-X;
  • No visual feedback of button presses - which would be fine if the action completed immediately, but (for example) when changing wallpaper there's a 5-10 second delay before anything appears to happen. First couple of times I was pressing the 'both' button repeatedly;
  • I like the new folders where you can have unlimited apps in each, separated into pages;
  • There's so much space around the 9 app icons when there's space for about 15;
  • The folders only use about 30% of the screen real estate;
  • Parallax backgrounds just seem like a gimmick to me, but maybe Apple have got something lined up to use this 'feature';
  • Icon/folder animation when rotating is not very smooth - feels like about 10fps;
  • Calendar looks much better, but I'd like a non-scrolling method of switching between months/years;
  • The transparency is horrible, just seems to put a strange colour cast over everything;
  • Quick access to notifications (from top) or control panel (from bottom) is useful - although remember to turn them off for apps if you find you're swiping them all the time.

Has anyone recently tried to download?

I have just tried on my 4S at 10:55 BST and my iPhone is now saying that 6 is upto date, even though last night, 7 appeared for download. It's now vanished!!

I can still swipe and delete cj?

The only new feature that I see as a real improvement are the 'dated pictures'

A feature 'window mobile' has had for some years

It has sped my iPhone 4 up (it couldn't have got much slower, tbh), but as mine updated overnight, the alarm didn't go off this morning :headbang:

With e-mail, you now have to swipe left from the right-hand side to bring up the more/trash option.

No issues after updating my phone and iPad last night - really like the new interface, and the phone (a 4s) is definitely faster with apps. :thumbsup:

I like the swipe up feature as well to get the shortcut to the most used apps (torch and camera :) ). Also works from the locked screen, great.

BTW - Did you know you can use Siri to make a call to a contact even with a locked screen? :?

Thats once of the first things i disabled, even on my first iphone with voce commands.

In lock screen press hold button, say ring home

And anyone who picks up your phone can have a whale of a time!!

You used to be able to double click the home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar, then press and hold an app to get the option of shutting it down. Can't do this now - is having all the apps running in the background not going to eat my battery, or was that always a myth ?

Bing... I just discovered that when you bring up the multi-tasking bar showing everything thats open.... if you drag the open item to the top it disappears and closes it.

+1 To force close an app due to freezing or troubleshooting various issues, launch into multitasking and swipe up on the app's card -- not the icon -- but the card itself.
