I installed it and it seems ok.

My 4S is running a bit slow it seems.

Nice new shortcut screens.

App switcher/killer borrows from Auxo - you kill by swiping.

Otherwise - not impressed.

Will live with it a couple of days and report back.

Any one else installed?
 
Was thinking about it but as its first beta and the notes mentioned calendar events not pushing etc I've held off so far. Be a pain if calendars not staying in sync.
 
I'll let you early adopters iron out all the bugs Shawna! :thumbsup:

If it's slow on a 4S heaven knows what my 4 will be like. Facebook for iPhone is already painfully slow on my 4.

I'm hoping this years new iPhone will be more appealing than the 5 was. Don't fancy that at all. Looks cheap and nasty build quality.
 
It is buggy but it is a beta.


Runs great on my 4s the new aesthetic is awesome it will be hard to go back to 6
 
I'm no dev (hence no copy to install!!!) but thats the point of a beta isn't it, to find and fix the issues before a public release? Or is it standard practice to only release a beta when it is a bit more polished?

From the content in the keynote I'm looking forward to it. I'm happy with the IOS6, but some of the new things excite me. Animated wallpapers.....pointless I know, but that sort of thing does it for me! Also the auto app update thing, I like that.

Tom - I thought you were a photographer....how do you get a copy?
 
From what I have seen it's a great improvement, there is some nice touches and it certainly looks a slicker interface, notifications at the bottom is very handy and the new compass/spirit level looks much better
 
From what I gathered at the keynote, you'll need a iPhone 5 at least to get all the advertised functions.

4s/4 get a reduced feature set.

3s and below are stuck at their current level.
 
I really really don't like the icons. I got a theme to make iOS 6 look like 7, changed it back instantly. Not looking forward to updating :-/
 
I'm not just a photographer, I work in media I'm a graphic designer and photographer by trade but dip and dabble in everything including software development and I'm on the developer programme. Me and my cousin have been designing some apps to aid selling advertising.
 
From a design standpoint the new interface is brilliant and I think a great design, minimal clear and beautiful across the board. One issue I'm having is the type is a bit fine even on the retinas especially in the quick control tab. The tracks are hard to read. But it's not out until sept so there is a lot of fine tuning to be done.

From a performance stand point the 4 will run but not spectacularly. The 4s and 5 should have similar performance with the new power management. It's running we'll on mine so far.

It is apples take and I know people get touchy about whether other os's have the same functions but a little while back it was the others that were playing catch up. Any extra features is a bonus and they are really nice a useful a great upgrade and it completely rejuvenates the experience like using a new phone.
 
Just to add, I am happy about call and text message blocking. Something I already have as my device is jailbroken, but nice to see it built into the OS
 
I didn't upgrade to iOS6 as I didn't want to lose Google Maps in favour of unreliable Apple Maps - have they ironed out the problems with that now with 6 and 7? If no, I'll not be upgrading my OS any time soon....
 
Loved it...but it played havoc with my University's email account. Something I couldn't live without so I had to revert.

Surprisingly, I had no apps crash on me either (well the ones I use frequently). Thought that was a good sign of things to come!

I'd have to disagree with Tom on the type, I thought it was much sleeker than the current font and I had no difficulties in reading.

Things that I'd imagine would take time for me to get used to is the new folder interface and having to swipe to access all the apps.

Considering how much the phones cost new, the icons feel a little too cartoony for my liking.

Overall I can't wait for a version to be released that will play nicely with my emails, I think it's a step in the right direction for the somewhat ageing operating system and well all the thing's I don't like are things I could learn to get used to.
 
The thing that I really want to have is a bigger screen, the iPhone 4 design the size of a Galaxy S4 with iOS 7 is my dream. Im not keen on my iPhone 5, it's too long and thin so it now has a clear bumper fitted.

As Tom said, the interface is much better but the fonts are a bit on the simplistic side so my focus is lost, if you understand what I mean.

The same thing applies in the emails - there is no definition in the list so you end up taking longer to focus and hence reply (when i say focus i mean it in the metaphoric sense).

Some improvements are nice:

Panoramic wallpaper - nice snazzy feature
Instant access from the un'lock' screen for the Calculator, flashlight, wifi, night mode(do not disturb), clock etc...
The calender is much much better.
To remove an app running in the background you double click and swipe up.
Photos gives you sub selection like panoramic and videos etc a very nice touch for faster access.

However my 4S has become definitely slower, and its taking longer to respond, not much but i can feel it. I do hope they will improve it in the official version but I doubt it as it just tweaks left not cpu parameters - I hope I am wrong. Alternatively it could be that the apps are not optimized to work with it so Facebook for example is at the moment much slower.

Hmmm. Looks a bit simplistic as you say, but I like the idea of some of the features listed. When is the official version due ?
 
Android has a one night stand with windows mobile and produces ios7?

Def agree about the icons and fonts. Reminds me of a Windows phone I toyed with. Has a bit of the Fisher Price look to it.

As for iPhone 5 Vs 4. Well worth the move after having mine for a month. Pretty impressive with a doubter watching a speedtest running 25md download and 10mb up in a shop he could barely get a 3G signal.
