iOS 6 reboot bug?

I upgraded the iPhone 4 with iOS 6 and have noticed that in te middle of a SMS or so, the phone will just reboot. Has anyone else found instabilities with this release?

I've not bothered on my 4. The missus has on her 4S and there's nothing particularly mind-blowing on it as far as my requirements are concerned.

My work 4s had the following issues after IOS6:

- VM changed to visual voicemail rather than standard meaning we couldnt access it till an Orange update
- Battery life lasting less than a day

I've downloaded it, the new maps app is poor and I miss the youtube app, apart from that no problems

My son has the reboot problem as well on his 4. Happens about once a day at the moment.

No reboot problem with it on my 4 or gen 1 ipad. Sometimes when selecting an email it dumps me out to the homepage.

Maps are terrible in some instances (resolution inmy area, amateur looking map design, etc. so I've already put Goggle maps back as a home page icon)

Aside this all is fine on both and some of the features are worth the upgrade

CJ - how did you get it installed on iPad 1? I thought IOS6 was not compatible on that?

My mistake - I have an iPad2.
I forgot the oginal Gen 1 and was thinking of the latest retina screen version as the 2.

Did you update OTA or through iTunes if OTA try a restore which will download a fresh iOS6 and give clean install

This was through iTunes. Just connected, says new software is available - did the download / install and left it to it until done.

No other complaints, works fine (ignoring maps as they just don't work at all for me at the moment as it can not find my current location for some reason by the looks of it).

I just updated to i06 this morning - simply because it said 'update available'. Now I notice lots of my app icons have gone, but I can't recall what they were. Wished I hadn't bothered now!

shutting down apps that are not being used seems helps the battery life where as in previous versions this has no effect ... my guess is the phone is not going into standby like it should. Double clicking the home button and turning all the apps off does the trick unless of course you have something like skype running which needs to be in the background.

Is there a trick to close all running apps in one go rather than close each in turn?

not that I know of, its a pain.... no doubt they will fix it shortly after their software team has finished adding all the missing towns to every country haha
