iOS 6 bug?

Interesting phenomena with my iPhone 4S since upgrading the iOS. If I open the google search app, it triggers the phone to go off hook in the car. It doesn't appear to be making a call though. Very odd. Anyone else seen this?

I haven't updated yet, don't plan too either after all the bad press! I love my google maps app (street view etc), am just getting slightly irritated with the big red circled '1' on the settings, just begging to be pressed and eradicated!

Sorry that's not helpful to your question!

Not experienced that issue and I tend to use the app a lot when out and about in car but my 4S has been very slow since updating to IOS6, I feel restoring the phone would probably resolve the issue but i've been lazy!

So many names of towns and villages are missing on IOS6 maps!! Why they had to revise I don't know. The previous map app was fine.

Just realised that the YouTube app is gone too. Needed to download a separate one, which is useless :headbang:

Glad it isn't just me!! No plans to upgrade here either.

I found one positive so far with the maps: They work off line :)

Whilst in Spain, I could find places even though I did not have a data connection. With Google Maps, it won't do anything without a data connection.

Sorry guys, have to disagree... iOS 6 is mostly great, a decent upgrade with plenty of new features that are really useful (panorama, DND mode, reply with msg, turn by turn on maps, etc etc)

Yes maps is still some way off Google maps (though its constantly being upgraded so will get there in time), so just use the google maps via safari & add as an icon to desktop...

The Google developed Youtube app is much better IMHO as the original once hadn't changed in years.

Just realised I didnt reply to OP's question... Not experianced that happening in E89, sounds like a strange one!

"Mostly great"

Steve Jobs would be turning in his grave :)

Otherwise known as "damning with faint praise" lol

To be fair, I don't often use the map app and my phone continues to perform as I'd want it to. No noticeable speed up or slow down with iOS 6. Just a functional and seemingly reliable smartphone, all anyone can ask for really :)

Well the only exception IMO is the maps issue - & this is no-where near as big as the iPhone 4 antenna issue while Steve was holding the reigns... Maps will be fixed in time as its upgraded & theres a simple alterantive if people aren't happy until then...

Certainly wasnt faint praise - its a fantastic phone

YouTube is now purely an app though, developed by Google not Apple... I've found it ok in the couple of times I've used it, not used a lot though admittedly...
