Introduction and questions

My first post - I recently became the proud owner of a Z4M, thought I'd say hello and ask a couple of questions. It's my fourth BMW (the only brand I've owned) after an '02 E46 320d SE, '05 E60 535d Sport (Individual) and '02 E46 325Ci Sport (the last being my favourite of the three!).

The car's specification is as follows:

Interlagos Blue
Extended Black Nappa Leather
'M' Embossed Headrests
Logic 7 Hifi
Bluetooth Preparation
CD Changer
Cruise Control
Park Distance Control
Electric folding mirrors
Heated seats

I'm sure this question has been addressed before but I'm looking to see what method people actually use for integrated an iPod (while maintaining an active CD changer). Wanted to see if there is an elegant solution out there that doesn't involve drilling holes in the dash for an aux-in or having to use an FM modulator for example. Not that I'd ever tire of that engine noise, but having some musical accompaniment doesn't hurt 8) .

Planned enhancements in the near term are cupholders and a car cover. Anything else I should be considering?

I'm a stickler for keeping a car's specification as original as possible and only using OEM parts where required for any upgrades. I'm sure BMW's M Division engineers are more clued up than myself on what functions best on the car!

Thanks in advance.

Hi & Welcome

I can't answer the Ipod part. But what reg is your car as 07 onwards come with Ipod slot just above the astray.

As regards to the M Division... that is highly debatable :D

How about a set of Aero Side skirts, strut brace and a set of CSL wheels. All of these are Genuine BMW and transform the car.

Is your's a coupe of Vert?

Weismann, welcome to the forum... :driving:
Excellent choice of color and with extended leather...WOW...

Thanks guys. It's an 06 reg and I haven't been able to locate an aux-in socket yet, so don't think it has one

The car's a roadster; I fully understand that on the ragged edge on the track the coupé is going to be sharper, but THAT noise with the roof down on a sunny day :D...

My '56' plate has a AUX-In ipod jack as well... Sept 2006 registration...

I'm surprised, mine is a Nov 2006 and doesn't have one. Or at least I don't think it does, otherwise I now have two :)

Would love a set of genuine CSLs, can't say BMW really made much of an effort with the original Z4M wheels... if I can be convinced they add to the car's value, I'm tempted!

Mines a Nov 2006/56 and it does have it. I think it is down to when it was built as opposed to registered. There were a few minor changes to the 07MY I beleive,
