Intravee Update

Any advice on this please :headbang:

Had a serial cable to usb connected to my intravee i connected the cable to my laptop but can't find a port using the device update software.

In device manager it's not there under serial port or usb should it be?

I tried this with XP no good neither with ignition off and on still not working.

Bought a serial extension lead but as my laptop doesn't have a serial port only usb i had to connect a adaptor so back to square one.

Also loaded the drivers that came with the adaptor.

Clueless now help please.

Plugging the serial adaptor in should prompt it to look for drivers, if it finds them fine, if not install from supplied disc. Some adaptors are more difficult than others, see the approved list on intravention.co.uk I bought one for around £9 and once drivers installed, mine worked on COM3 I think without problem.

Go to the device manager and look under COM/Serial ports. If your PC is seeing the adapter it should be listed under there with a COM port assigned to it i.e. COM1, COM2, COM3 etc. That is the COM port to select in the Intravee tool. If your Serial/USB adapter isn't listed under COM ports in the device manager then you haven't installed it correctly. Remove the device (physically) from the PC and uninstall the drivers via the control panel "add/remove programs". Reboot the machine when you're done. Now ensure the device is not connected to the PC and go through the driver installation procedure again. Once that is complete then you can connect the device to the USB port on your PC and it should go through the recognition process. If you get stuck give me a shout and I can help

Vista OS under device manager com ports reads USB com port (com 2)

I have changed to 20 and 10 still get can't open port with the download tool.

The cable must be working ok if i remove lead it dissapears off device manager.

Ignition is on.

Try a different download tool, I couldn't get the latest version to work for updates but could for logging issues etc. Tried the next to most recent download tool and that was fine.

You'd be much better asking over at intravention.co.uk as they have been really helpful when I was having software issues.

Funny you said that I have contacted Intravention and they have sent me another doownload tool so will try that later.

Stupid question but have you matched the ports on both the download tool and the com port. Also try disabling the other ports.

Finally got it sorted

It was the download tool causing the trouble i used another version that fixed this.

I now have the v6.02 with extras.

Can't wait to try the G tool
