Intravee search

When searching for albums, tracks or artists on the Intravee it is painfully slow. It is as if the head unit can not keep up with the dial when its turned to search. Is this common or is there anything i can do to improve this feature?

I use an iPod mini 4gb and that works fine with about 60 albums - no delay / pause when scrolling through albums.

Have you updated to the latest firmware?

Yeah could be. when I tried my 16gb iPhone I noticed that it took a bit longer for all the albums to appear

Takes a while for them to appear with my 16gb iPhone — weird, as it seems to load them every time, rather than keep the lists in it's memory...

I found it worse that it started with the same song, from the same (first) playlist every time I switched it on ...

Yup, that sucks. Reminds me I need to delete that song - it's 'Jai Ho' and I now hate it with a passion, more than I did before I had an Intravee :x :D

To get round this I recorded one second of silence and called it #. In iTunes it's added to all my playlists so doesn't notice when it happens, then the next random album in the list is played.

It's near impossible to negotiate your way around the iPod/iPhone using the intravee. I gave up and just use my iPod directly, much easier!

Thanka for that tip... Lilly allen has been driving me crazy for years in mine!

That's why I wanted mine out the cubby and onto my brodit mount again. Using the steering wheel controls and head unit knobs is more distracting than touching the device.

@srhutch - genius idea, but mate - soooooo sad that you worked that out lol

Worked it out years ago as it drove me made. The sad part, I mean hard part is getting it on all the playlists. If you not careful it falls off things like "recently added" etc.

i would tend to agree esp with the way it wont display longer album names. mines still wired into the boot as i cant figure out (not had time) how to get it past all the stuff in the cubby. i didnt think you could still use the screen

Its a nice bit of kit but im not very impressed with my intrave and given the amount i use it think its a bit of a waste of money. its too clunky and the interface is not quite right, just doesn't seem logical to me.

Do you have Nav?

yes i do

but tbh its a bit clunky and doesnt like working till the car has warmed up in the winter :D

i s**t you not... i found that if i leave the disc out at night and leave popping it back in till 10 mins after the cabin has warmed up 8 out of 10 times it will work. if i leave it in over night 2 out of 10 times it will work and not give me disc errors.

i can get it fixed for ~£150 quid apparently but would have to remove it which seems a pest and ive not got around to. its why i follow ipad/tablet posts as i think that if an install that removed the whole system and put a tablet or something onto the screen via the steering controls it would have better music playing and better nav for similar costs to an intravee and fixing the mk4 nav.
