Intravee Nav Auto Zoom Settings

Has anyone played with these settings enough to know what the best set up is for the factory nav? What is the best speed increment to use? Looks like some roads will disappear when zoomed out and you could miss a turning. Or does it switch back to 125yds with each instruction regardless of speed?

It works great, when you speed up, it zooms out, you slow down, it zooms in and when you stop it will go to the 125 yds option.

there is so much of this intravee ive not used... the poor thing is languishing on the boot floor as ive not had time to route the cables. damn annoying that i have to keep leaving my phone in the boot too :) must get round to braving taking the trim apart to get the cables past the auto changer (although i would like to take that out too anyway.

I think i have mine as under 30 its the biggest zoom, 30-70 its the second click (is it 250 yrds?) and over 70 is (450 yrds)

Not that i ever go over 70

I set mine to max zoom out to 450yds, which is the last setting that maintains all the roads on the screen. You need to get both the increments and offset right for the best zoom, I'll check mine later if you want.

If you could that would be cool - I switched it on, obviously didn't spend enough time thinking about it, and it annoyed me constantly changing so I switched it off

My settings are:
Map Zoom Auto
Speed Offset 9
Speed Increment 24
Min Scale 125
Max Scale 450

The speed offset sets the speed before which the speed increment values start being applied. For example, a speed offset of 20mph together with a speed increment of 20mph would trigger scale changes at 40mph, 60mph, 80mph etc.

I can't remember why I settled on these numbers other than it starts changing at 33mph. An offset of 10 and an increment of 20 might be more sensible :? 30, 50, 70 etc

To stop the map scale flip-flopping, there's a ?4mph? 'buffer' as well - as you slow down it has to get 4mph below the trigger speed before the scale changes so, if going up you've got changes at 30, 50, 70, as your speed drops the changes are at 66, 46 & 26

Funny enough. the default settings seems ok for me so I have not changed anything. Everytime I look it is at the right scale for my speed near junctions etc. Guess as Bing approaches hair pins at 70mph means that the scale would be wrong for him :poke:

Is there another way of approaching hair pins :?
When they're on the fourth floor of the local NCP multi-story, then, yes!

Most I can get up to is 55 in them, too short & not enough grip on the concrete :(
