intravee information

ive tried searching but intravee is used on here far to much to help!

i want to get an intravee unit to install, does it come with the cable i need or do you need to purchase that separate? (and if so A, whats the point and B, without a cable does it do anything?)

i use a Mac, but i can steal my GFs netbook to install any windows based softwear needed. is it just a case of plugging it into the car and the laptop and altering settings?
 
The intravee connects to the CD changer cables which are available on all cars pre-installed, regardless of you have a CD changer installed or not (if you do, it replaced the CD changer unless you buy an adapter)

You then need the ipod cable which im sure comes with the intravee, unless you want a longer one, which in most installs for a Z, you don't.
 
Just to advise cd changer cable is only standard on UK cars, USA cars are not pre wired.

You need:

Intravee
Alpine KCA-420i
Cable to join the above
Ipod to alpine cable
Null modem cable and usb adapter if required for updating.
 
im not too bothered about plugging my ipod in at the mo, as i have an aux port, i do want to do all the other cool stuff, just seems odd that to do anything you need a cable and they dont sell it packaged together!


will get one ordered ASAP and get playing!

What sort of things are you looking to do. For £25 on ebay you can buy an OBD interface and software and program the key/car options.
 
I still have my obd11 cable I had for the Audi (vag com) is this the same cable?

The one on eBay comes with installation DVDs. My netbook doesn't have a drive. Is there anywhere to DL the software?
 
Do you not have access to a dvd drive on another machine. Transfer over a network or usb stick.
