Intravee II install in Z4 roadster

Hi All

Just received my Intravee II. Best instructions I could find were intended for installation of an alpine CD changer into a Z4. However, I have fallen at the first hurdle - trying to remove the fold-down cover for the cubby hole in between the seats (ie. the bit of trim with the snap in mobile phone holder, pen holder etc). It says to lower it and then "carefully pull it towards the front of the car". Trying this, it feels like the plastic hinge is going to snap and break and you can see the plastic flexing... there were two small screws, so I removed them but it still feels like the whole thing is going to break rather than slide out as intended.

The rest of the instructions look just about ok but this first bit has me worried that I am about to break things!! Can anyone help with this specific step or point me towards some decent instructions for installing the intravee in a Z4 roadster?

A fast reply would be appreciated as I am at my parents house this weekend and my dad has all the tools!!

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure to have understood what you're trying to do (because of my bad english, not for your explanation).
I hope this will help

Those were my instructions, yes. You have to wriggle the door out, they are expanding rivits where the screws went in. Once you removed the screws, you can also put a bit of pressure with a screwdriver (small) to lever the connections out.

So - wriggle a bit first (worked for all the cars I have done so far (3))
If that does not work, use a small screwdriver to push those connectors out.

Thanks to you both for the advice. Followed these instructions and it came off without breaking :)

Intravee is now installed... can't say it went particularly smoothly! Trying to put the main piece of trim back in resulted in some broken mounting pegs although since it is bolted down anyway I guess that doesnt matter too much.

My advice to anyone thinking about fitting the Intravee is that if you haven't done any car DIY before then you might want to consider paying someone else to do it!
