Intravee II Firmware Update

Hi

Im going to install my Intravee, but wanted to check what the version of the firware was on the unit as it was?
How do I do that?

I saw have read that there is 6.0.2 out there, is that the latest or is there later - even if beta?

I have a 9 pin serial cable which i got with the Intravee II - is that the cable I need?
When i plugged it into my laptop - nothing happened, even when i did a refresh from Device Manager. Does it need to be plugged into the car first to get power?

The Intravee needs power from the car (3 pin connector).

If the IV is new it will have V6.01 firmware, to get the latest V6.02 register the Intravee - the details are on the Intravee forum in the FAQ section http://www.intravention.co.uk/forum/index.php When you register, request the latest firmware.

Thanks - however, i cant register as it says that registration is currently disabled.
The unit is 2nd hand hence why i wanted to know how to check
