Intravee ii - do I need cd changer?

Hello Guys'n'Girls,

I'm looking at installing an intravee ii, but I don't seem to be able to get a straight answer.

Do I need to have the factory cd changer installed? Would it be sufficient for the car to be pre-wired for it?If so, should my 2004 3.0i Z4 roadster be pre-wired & where do I find the connections if so.

I've got an audio dealer trying to tell me that I need to buy a cd change (which will then be redundant) for the intravee to work.

Many thanks in advance.

You need the CD changer wiring only. If you have a change you need to disconnect it and connect the wiring to the Intravee.

All UK cars come pre wired.

Audio dealer is talking out of his arse.

As srhutch said - all UK cars are pre-wired.

Note that the wiring is stuck down at the bottom of the centre console with tape so you have to get to it to get it lose (see some of my threads for satnav installation on how to get there).

Sometimes the wiring is a little short so makes it a little tricky to put the Intravee in the place you want to have it, but other than that a very simple installation.
