intravee firmware 6.02

Hello,
It seems that you know well the Intravee. So, I wonder if you can help me...
I bought my Z4MC with intravee already installed and I have the cable in the trunk.
I have tried the following things :
1. I plugged my old Iphone V1 and a message appeared on the phone " this device is not done to work with Iphone". Nevertheless, It was possible to change the songs with the left/right arrow but the buttons on the steering wheels didn't work.
2. I plugged my 4Gb Ipod Nano. Everything worked well.
BUT in both cases, there is a really annoying problem! In fact, when I leave the ipod plugged in the trunk for a long time with the car stopped (for example during the night), the ipod is not deteceted when I start the car. So, I have to go in the trunk, disconnect and reconnect the ipod in order to make it works... So, it seems that it is not possible to turn on the Ipod when it is in sleep mode. And if I turn off the "sleep mode" option directly on the Ipod, then I will not have battery anymore.
Do you know how can I fix this problem? Do you think that a firmware upgrade can solve this problem? If yes, how can I check the actual firmware version?

If you buy a Scosche Passport it will ensure that the iPod will charge when connected to the Intravee.
To fix the problem of the iPod going to sleep you can set a calendar reminder as described here:

Just updated my software, was really easy once I got the right cable, the first one I bought just wouldn't work. Bought two from ebay both for around £2.00, the first one green/blue in colour would not work. The second one which was black worked fine.
Strangely enough both had the same Prolific driver so perhaps I had a faulty one, no idea.
Extras menu is cool, screen now displays my coolant temp and outside temp at the top of the screen and there are lots more customisable options.

Today I’ve tried installing the firmware 6.02. But cant get it to work I have done everything that intravee tell me to, but all that keeps happening is I get a page full of code. They explain what to do to prevent this but it still happens. I'm using a 15 pin cable with a converter to a 9 pin on the end has anyone else been successful in doing this with this cable. Can anyone advise me any further with some tips that aren't already on the intravee website. I'm not the most computer savvy of people so it could be something really obvious.

This is the cable if been using is this similar to what eveyone else
