Ah, didn't replace the hood, just the starter motor

I think you'll find my tips are actually very, very clean... They could just be cleaner :D

Whilst he was doing something else no doubt.

We probably won't see him all morning, be hiding somewhere on the phone to Timbucktoo or some place

Maplin purchase complete, got 2 sizes just incase.

Camera arrived today also, tested it all records fine - just need to establish which way up it will be fitted as to whether I use slot A or B.

Doesn't matter, it's easier to slide it out of the mounting bracket than to remove/reinsert the card while it's fixed to the window

Interesting, as the guy I spoke to at Combi suggested exactly the opposite. He mentioned that the more you take the unit off the bracket, the more chance of it becoming lose and vibrate.

The removing of the sd card whilst fitted to the screen I found straight forward as it is facing down.

This is what I've been told as well. I Always remove/insert card with camera in holder.

Bracket to the left for reference.

Fair enough, if that works for you. But, by rights, it shouldn't become loose enough to vibrate with the limited number of insertions/removals it's likely to encounter - if it does I'll buy another bracket, they're cheap as chips... or, by that time, a much better camera

The first time it was so stiff to remove, I feared that I was ripping the windscreen out :D

Yep, I've had mine in & out 20 or 30 times and it's still as firm as ever (ooh err, Mrs....)

That was my concern, but following some advice on the Dashcam forum, rubbed a little lube and it is now much easier, albeit still a challenge. Will opt for the card removal method, especially with the 0806 having 2, effectively top & bottom, depending on how the final angle is positioned.

Will download Registrator Viewer also, as been recommended for the output videos.

Does the camera only install the software onto the card after the camera formats it, or on inserting the card? Reason for asking is I have a 64gb card & therefore cannot format in the camera to gain the software - this is what the manual suggests happens after a format.

You have to format the card on a PC using one of the (many) FAT32 formatting utilities, the camera will create the correct directory structure and add the viewer software on first use

The registrator viewer is much better than the one that comes with the camera anyway

Cheers, thought it came as FAT32 as standard? Or are you referring to when I reformat it?

Least few years of only using an ipad, I can see a new laptop on the cards soon given mine is pushing 8 years old...

I formatted it in the unit itself
It's not supposed to be able to format cards over 32GB - as I'd read about that prior to getting the cam, I didn't try, just formatted my 64GB card using a PC

Just seen PVR's post & wishing I'd gone for a 32gb now, as much easier!
