Intravee & Alpine unit (not mine) - and some other random

Depends on the drain of the camera in standby mode - it should have this in the camera specs, then divide power pack capacity by this figure. To put it in perspective a 2300mAh battery gives a Nexus 5 mobile phone 300 hours on standby.

And I've said a 5000mAh power pack, but they come in larger sizes too, I have a 20000mAh version that would still fit comfortably in the light recess.

Hmmm cannot seem to locate this vital bit of info!

Apparently the parking guard mount seems to have low voltage protection, but cannot seem to find any.

Prefer the power pack idea though as that way I know my car will always start!

Assume something like this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/EasyAcc-Ultra-Slim-External-Protable-Smartphones/dp/B00Q2G4T4E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1431848914&sr=8-3&keywords=powerbank+5000mah

Thanks

Might be a slightly irrelevant point on the power pack , the dashcamtalk forum suggests parking guard was removed in 0806 firmware update. Think I will give up with the parking idea & just have it for driving

Will we have time to fit it though, that is the question!?

I got my 0806 from Combi few weeks back - they had a great reputation. My 0805 came from there as well.

They come with a free hard wire kit from Combi also, so thanks for that

Just keep bouncing around in my head whether the camera is 'really' necessary. Sod's Law will apply if I decide not to buy one get it fitted though :headbang:

Not sure if plans have fallen over, but following a frustrating £99 expenditure in the dealer, my dash rattle behind the vents remains - apparently both snr tech & tech tested the car & were happy. Can only assume it was the world's smoothest road, as was blatantly there within 5 mins of leaving the dealer :headbang: Will be seeing what their suggested next steps are, but cannot believe they would expect me to pay for a lack of fix?!

Priorities now would be Intravee install & centre vent removal and some help sticking everything with felt....from those who have found it easy to remove as for the life of me I can't do it.

I can learn to drive round the delay valve & the camera is a luxury (plus I'm now £99 worse off for no fix at the dealer)

Annoyingly there now also seems to be a light clunk from plastics on the passenger side, which is a new one. Tried the glovebox full, empty, open and this doesn't affect it. Think it's slightly to the left and lower of the box, but tricky to locate when driving :headbang:

Frustrating day all in all

I think Perry was suggesting using one of his saws to sort that one out. Remove a section of the top dash to have a look underneath and see what is going on. Key hole has not worked, so the full op it will be ...

Yep, full surgical procedure. Though I still need my CDV removed :D

@Pvr - are we meeting early in TW, or just finding our own way ? If the latter, let me know the roads you found as I'll probably go cross country for a hoon rather than motorway

Not sure what the plan is now, as we are coming from different directions.

The route I did was Crowborough, London Road, B2188 to A264, then that to East Grinstead and then via the backroad back to mine.

Dropped by the office & the magical berocca cupboard was empty - will grab your addresses and forward on.

PVR, I'm sure I can the fully open operation with a large saw, but frankly like the dash how it looks from the factory :) Although they can keep their OEM rattles  I'd be quite sure our combined rattle knowledge & care with adhesive felt vs the dealer will have it fixed...even if the stick it everywhere approach is required.

'Might' have found the noise below the glovebox that seemed to make a noise around corners..... .....my first aid box wasn't actually connected to the seat frame :headbang: Hoping this solves it as feel like I could do with some luck today.

Dealer also adjusted the door catch as driver's door was sticking out slightly. Wind noise remains though, so will be trying the bottom adjustment bolt to move the guide rail during the week to see if it improves before booking it in somewhere again for the adjustment where you remove the doorhandle.

Be good if it still happens, but if it needs to be another time, then not a problem. You could practice on Bing's clutch to refresh your memory before doing mine

Whats the weather like for saturday?

Can't see PVR turfing the porker out of the garage for some old zed.

Sunny & cloudy, no rain. He might turf the Abarth out :D

Wanna meet in TW for a drive over Steve ?

We all need to take mj2k's car out for a drive anyway, to test the CDV and rattles of course.

We can upload a video of us doing that, rivalling that Sepang M …

There are a couple of nice roundabouts near you as well, won't even be warm by the time we get there.

Wish I had a garage large enough to get a car in! After fridge, freezer & dryer there isn't room, so have filled the rest of it with BBQs & smokers  When it was empty, the S2000 just about got in, but I still had to drop the roof to get out the car

And less of the old :poke: once I get a dateless plate it will look young again. Apart from people who know their cars.

And to all of you who posted about roundabouts while I was typing  Thought this was a safe place to be...Didn't like leaving the car with BMW for their road test & wished I had a cam installed to review how they drove it - checking Z4M roundabout videos for the next few weeks to be sure.

If you did fit a cam, you could then upload them without me even knowing until I came across the post on the forum, oh the fun you could have :|

Only just caught up on that post with Instagram action, disagree with where it was done but he certainly can drive. Although the video just sitting spinning the wheels seemed a little Saxo brigade to me, or does it require skill??

Indeed sir

Right then, let's sort that out through the week. I don't know TW so we need a place to meet. I'll work the route to PVR's out on a map and then probably promptly get lost

mj2k - yep, he's got some skills. But if it's been ragged within an inch of its life from cold every time he's driven it then it may not be the best investment...

Gave up after a few videos as felt a little creepy watching someone's photo life! Would hope someone who can drive bad mechanical sympathy. Worst part is how easy he made it look!

Can I borrow yours to practice! :D

I think the majority agree, but there is a slight glitch in the plan....me

2 out of 4 have already driven your car, surely that makes it the best one to test drive for common knowledge :driving:

The Z4 council has considered your defence and scrapped it due to irrelevancy
