Internet car buying

Has anybody used one of these internet car buying sites?

Ie. select the car and spec then it runs away to find the best deal. It seems too good to be true and there has to be a downside?

A number of people have used sites like Broadspeed to get a quote and then taken it to try to get a dealer to match it - they can't usually get the same price but often get a much better deal than just trying to negotiate the price down

I've used buyacar a couple of times. Always a good service. A bit daunting the first time as u have to part with ur cash 1st. I rang the dealers first to make sure car was there then paid the money and it was delivered from Peterborough the next day. I have had no problems with both my transactions.

If you mean Autoebid, yes I used them back in 2005 to buy a 120d. I got a better deal than any of the other sites mentioned, dealt with a BMW dealer who delivered the car to my house.

Perfect service.
