The yellow battery symbol appears on the dash most mornings as I drive off and disappears after a couple of minutes. This has been happening for the past 6 months or so. However, recently I've noticed that if I really put my foot down at higher speed and revs for a couple minutes, the yellow battery light will come on and again clear itself after a couple minutes.
I've read the cause being anything from something drawing too much power from the battery, to a failing battery, alternator or sensor.
Any advice how to get to the bottom of the cause before the inevitable happens and I'm left stranded on a country road in the depths of winter
