Hi guys,
Been trying to figure out whats going on with the screen wash, it stopped working and then started again, generally intermittent, checked pipes, jets n filters all fine, but it is clearly a motor or lack of power to motor issue as the motor is silent. Replaced with new motor, all working perfectly at the weekend, wife gets back from work tonight and reports the bad news that she has no washers again!!!! Jumped into the car to check this depressing news to find they are working fine again. Im wondering if we have a relay issue or something, the wiring apperas ok and the car is a late 2016 model with 20k on the clock and has been mostly garaged so im assuming its not a earth , rust grounding issue?? I noticed as well that the headlamp washers work when they feel like it , would it be a ECU coding problem ? Any advice would bechelpful....thanks in advance.

If the E89 is the same as the E85/6 they don't work all the time.

They only ever operate when the lights are on, and then it's still intermittent - I think it may be every 5th time you use the washers.

I saw this issue recently and it was down to the washer feed pipe being kinked when the bonnet is down. Check the routing and any hard bends in the pipe

This problem concerns the windcreen wash not the head lights, but there is no sound from the motor no matter how many times you try the windcreen washers, turned off the ignition, remove keys, .........put keys back in ingnition and try washeds again , they work and the motor can be heard running ( it had a new motor) do both the washer motors have a relay somewhere that sends power out?
Thanks for taking the time to reply ( the bottle , pipes and jets have all been cleaned and no kinks )
