Intermittent light bulb warning light

My little light bulb on the dashboard has been coming on intermittently since Sunday. I have had a walk round the car and checked all the bulbs, but nothing seems to be amiss. Today the little bulb has been on 3 out of 6 trips, what's going on ?

I know that this isn't a cure, but it might help if it works on your car like it works on mine.

I have same issue with my car sometimes. All bulbs are working and none have been replaced recently.
I find that the bulb warning light stays on for the whole journey if it's on at the start.

However...

If, when I start the car the warning light comes on, now what I do is turn on the headlights. The bulb warning light then always turns off after about 1 minute.
Having done this, the warning light never re-appears during the journey.

Hope this works on your car too.

Forgot to add, as soon as the bulb warning light has gone out, I turn off the headlights.
Unless it's night time, of course!

I had the same, it disappeared if I pressed the brake pedal, I assumed it was a check to make sure the brake lights were working.

There's likely a bulb with a loose filament that occasionally shakes loose and triggers the warning. It then falls back into place and makes a connection so the system resets next time lights are used. Unless you can locate the culprit bulb while it's acting up, it will be difficult to identify. It should eventually fail permanently at which time the culprit will be obvious. In the mean time you keep getting this annoying warning lamp.

I had the same thing a few times. What I tended to do was do the journey and then look for the missing light, which there was none. I eventually caught it by getting straight out of the car as soon as the light went on and looked for the missing one. Most of the time they were all lit but once I managed to catch it. Replaced it and all was fine.
