Intermittent coolant light

For some reason my coolant light keeps coming on (I think once the engine is up to temperature). The coolant level is fine. My scanner reads no fault codes. Anyone know what the cause could be?

Sometimes the float which sits in a dry channel alongside the coolant gets stuck

A few gentle taps may free it up- failing that if you are sure there is no coolant loss: live with it. If you can’t- it’s not the worst job to replace the expansion tank

If it’s your original it’s good preventative maintenance

Sounds like a faulty level sensor. Or you could have an airlock in the coolant system.
Try bleeding it and see if the level drops and then top up as required

The float isn’t stuck either
No bigwinn is correct. The top float only gives a visual aid and operates in the top half of the tank. The lower float is an internal magnet that operates the switch in the sensor at the bottom. It is that one that sticks
