If you didn't want a purple car, you shouldn't have bought one :poke:
Not sure if you're a troll but did you read the main purpose of this thread?
This isn't a "I didn't want a purple car" discussion so I've no idea where you're coming from there.

Just joining in with your mates :) I once had a blue polo that turned purple whenever there was something red nearby, I got a ribbing for that one too.
I'm not surprised they were breaking your balls about that....really, a grown man driving a Polo! What were you thinking? :poke:

I like interlagos when the sun isn't out. A lovely rich blue..

I went to look at an M5 last summer and the sun was bright and it looked like a colossal bell end..

Oh, sorry, it's difficult to pick up on sarcasm over text haha  Seriously, engineering company of 300+ people and it's gone viral that I have a purple car... I think I snapped "IT'S BLUE!" to the first guy that mentioned it looked purple, and he decided to have my life over it haha so that's my own fault
To be fair I've previously had a yellow Megane cabriolet and a Toyota Prius, dark times, so given the past abuse I've had I can take this

Just wait for the ... "you're the engineer with the purple hairdresser's car". Then we can say you should have got one with a roof :D

I love the way a lot of the bmw colours appear different in different lights.my imola 3m roady was a pinky red in bright sun and a gorgeous almost maroon in the late pm half light, my carbon z4mc changes from black to dirty bluein cloudy low light, to stunning Lobster blue in bright sun. interlagos is another example of this with the purple phenomena, which I really like.

I just had to google lobster blue....but yeh you're right

I really wanted an Imola coupé. but it was the pinky red in turned in sunlight that put me off, the deep maroon in lower light is such a stunning shade, but I want my cars to look their best in the brightest conditions....which I think the Carbon does admirably.

I remember the first time i saw an uncooked lobster and was fascinated by the steel blue colour hence i called it lobster blue.always thought it would be a great car colour, then i discovered Carbon Black,... that'l do me

I think that's one of the great things about Interlagos Blue.....because it looks different colours depending on the light etc.
Personally I love that about it :D

Here's another IB picture.

Who cares if it looks purple in some lights anyway, what's wrong with purple? I remember when an e36 m sport in Techno violet was highly desirable. Maybe it still is. I get ribbed for red seats but I just say that's ok, you are never going to sit in them.
Love the ford deuxie. I had one in 1986. Someone at work nick named it the flying fart. Lovely raspy exhaust. :D

The original purpose of this thread wasn't a complaint about the purple tint, it was a query to other IB owners to see if their paint changes in the way mine does as I'm a new owner and wanted to be sure I have a genuine paint finish. Who knows what could have happened to a car in 8-9 years t1813.gif

god that looks nice with those m3 wheels!!!

Thanks Beedub!

I have ordered some Apex Arc8's to see what the handling difference will be like and also start doing some track days.

I'm not totally sure what I will do with the M3 wheels yet.

Yes I get that but just saying nothing wrong with purple anyway.

The thing to remember is that Interlagos Purple / Blue is the fastest colour... Especially when combined with Apex wheels!!! :driving:

Yes, I have a lovely Interlagos BLUE M roadster too......you can read, lol

Having said before that I wasn't massively keen on these wheels when fitted to a Z, I'm going to have to retract that and say I've really grown to like them

Both the above look really good 8)
