Interlagos Purple

I love the way a lot of the bmw colours appear different in different lights.my imola 3m roady was a pinky red in bright sun and a gorgeous almost maroon in the late pm half light, my carbon z4mc changes from black to dirty bluein cloudy low light, to stunning Lobster blue in bright sun. interlagos is another example of this with the purple phenomena, which I really like.

I just had to google lobster blue....but yeh you're right
I really wanted an Imola coupé. but it was the pinky red in turned in sunlight that put me off, the deep maroon in lower light is such a stunning shade, but I want my cars to look their best in the brightest conditions....which I think the Carbon does admirably.

Is this consistent with how IB behaves on your cars under different lighting?
If the sky, or surroundings are redder than normal, it will get a purpley hue. Note the three red cars your mates have parked round it.
Or the red brick building.
As IB is metallic paint, it has reflective flakes in it that lay in all directions, and the red will shift the colour of that part of the paintwork, even if the direct reflection is not in line with that bit on the car.
I like the Interlagos Blue colour flip - blue, various blues, purple and purple-pink I can see. I don't like it enough to buy one though but I really like the Carbon Black flip and would happily have that shade. Sepang flips a bit as well, doesn't it? Are there other colours for Z4s that have built-in flip? Sapphire tends to be black (unsurprisingly), a glossy mirror with some black thrown in when immaculate (doesn't happen all the time as its just massively time consuming to keep it like that) and shimmery black under artificial light.

I once had a blue polo that turned purple whenever there was something red nearby, I got a ribbing for that one too.Oh, sorry, it's difficult to pick up on sarcasm over text haha Seriously, engineering company of 300+ people and it's gone viral that I have a purple car... I think I snapped "IT'S BLUE!" to the first guy that mentioned it looked purple, and he decided to have my life over it haha so that's my own fault :lol:
To be fair I've previously had a yellow Megane cabriolet and a Toyota Prius, dark times, so given the past abuse I've had I can take this

Haha, yeah I know what you mean about snapping and it sticking. I had my "blue" polo in college and by the end of the year even the lecturers started to join in. Used to get tannoys about a purple polo with its lights on and all sorts. I'm kinda glad it got written off by a chav in a corsa, meant I didn't give in, right?
