Interlagos Blue Z4m

Sounds all too dodgy to me, could the car have been clocked between services and MOTs?

Would there be any way of knowing?

Glad you out it sorted out. Extreme saga around such s simple thing!

Guess if the car goes okay, isn't hurting from a lack of running in stamp and a potential new owner doesn't care, then somebody could be in for a bargain.

when i checked all the previous history mot, previous log books the mileage seemed to all add up well i couldn't care less now its out of my hands

Reading the article I'm a little confused, he was behind bars on the first of January 2006... And his scams took place in 2003-4. So how could your car have been one of the scammed ones?

The crrok probably only did 6-9 months, and this car was sold during 2007 or 2008?? so he was scamming again??

Lucky escape for the op,though..and a shame,as it seems a nice car,and who knows what mileage, etc its actually done, unfortunately

Hah, this just showed up as for sale near my house! :)

I've sent them an email asking about the RIS as there's no mention of it in their advert, let's see if I get a reply :?

Wow, one hell of a saga. I wonder what the circumstances were that led to the first owner releasing the car to the fraudster without cleared funds?

I think the way that 'Scragg' acquired the car without paying for it was that the first owner purchased it on BMW finance, and the balance of the finance was at least the value of the sale price, and the first owner believed 'Scragg' when told that he would pay off the finance to BMW directly. :x

Got a reply this morning

Hi,
We have all of the history for the car. The running in service was completed
by the second owner who was a garage owner
(Elite fleet).

Regards

I've asked for the mileage and date of said RIS

And the 2nd reply

Don`t know exatly, but apparantly it was done at around 1000 miles and then
had it`s first BMW service @ 4000miles..

Wow - the front of the guy. And he can't spell - worrying enough even if you don't know the history.

Keep going, then contact trading standards

the cheek.

it's saddening really, i'm currently looking with the intention of MC purchase ~May time - and this guy is within 3 miles of my house. Luckily the price is too high for me else i'd be viewing it!

needless to say, i'd very much like to buy a car with a positive z4-forum history!

If the car had the service bmw would have a record of it and i spent hours on the phone calling over 40 dealers around the area it was purchased in doncaster but goodluck to them but i think they will struggle to get 18k for it.

It's now featured in a group test in Marchs issue of Evo. Munich Legends also quoted as lending it out to the editorial team. No mention of the history tho!
