Interior trim removal?

Hi

I've just got my hands on a set of interior wood trim panels to replace my silver carbon fibre effect ones. Does anyone have any idea how any of them come off. The centre one especially looks like I will need to take the radio out to get to some screws behind it and also remove it to get the one around the gear lever out.

Any pics/help would be appreciated as bmw said it'll take 4hours at £135+vat

Oh and that's per hour!!!

They charge the same to upgrade software, when then aren't actually doing anything for 90% of the time. The most expensive parking in the world.

Have I missed that, or do you mean the post that has the pic of the removal tool?

I think he's just forced the trim from near the air con controls, as the panel is the entire length from start button to left hand air vent and is clearly secured by screws under the opening to the glovebox and some that must be accessed from behind the stereo. Just been looking at the panels I have and it's helping a little to see how they must be fixed in.

Sadly no PDF, I have a VM without a printer defined so I can only screen scrape unfortunately.

I will find the door trims in a bit.

That's ok. Whatever help you can provide in the way of screen shots and details is brilliant. Do you think it looks manageable for a keen amateur?

Yep, a few of us have had the trims out for various reasons... You should consider buying a set of trim removal tools if you haven't already, they are relatively cheap and make the job much safer and easier.

I have these which do the job: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B004P3VQEC/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Let me know if you're looking to sell the carbon effect trim once it's out!

Have had the wood trim in, only £120 by German Autocare in Pudsey. Fantastic service and less than the cost of an hours labour at the BMW garage. I've replied to the PM i had but if he's no longer interested i'll let you know. Failing that i'll put it on the classified page.
