My dash and interior is trimmed with "Brushed Alumiium"
The trim around the gear leaver/ashtray/heated seats area has become annoyingly damaged ( Rings and other jewelry I guess)

Has anyone removed/replaced this trim?
If I remove it is it repairable I do I buy a replacement?

All guidance welcome
Cheers..Clemmo

Probably not really repairable to an original finish easily.
A replacement part is over £400.
To remove it, remove the gearstick surround and then prise it up from the rear and then unclip all the block connectors that go to the switches that are attached to it.

I thought I'd read it was a fair bit harder to remove then that. Would love to see a pic or video guide.

You are way off here. The entire centre tunnel needs removing.

This is on the E89. I have had ours out a couple of times and from memory there is around 5 of those metal clips that just push in.
To remove it you just have to either prise it from one end or possibly from around the hole where the gear stick surround was.

Apologies, I assumes this was an e85

How about something like this, I wonder how hard wearing they are? Obviously you would need to do all of your trim.

Good info but I’m always worried I’m going to snap something removing trim panels

Cheers to all...

Well I know I cant live with it so it has to be sorted!
I will have a look this weekend and see how easy/difficult it is to come out.
Then I can decide to find a direct replacemnt or repair/change all brushed Ali parts
