Interior trim painting?

I picked up my kidney grills from the paint shop today. When i was in i got talking about my zed, i mentioned that i would have preferred the black gloss trim rather than the brushed aluminium.
Anyway the painter offered to paint my trim any colour/ finish i want. Anyone done this with great results? :?
 
Painting trim can be tricky, secret is to spend more time on the preparation than the actual spraying, I have just finished my front grills on my Focus ST, plastic primer, satin black and clear coat to finish...
