You’re right - I didn’t look closely enough at the cutouts for the instrument binnacle and steering wheel cowl, and I was confused by the hole in the centre console. I hadn’t realised that any model of Zed came without a sport button.
I have the cirrus panels in mine. It’s nice that there a bit different from the usual alloy trim but I think I’d prefer the leather trim all day long. Too bad getting LHD trim at a decent price is rather difficult.
I think it really depends on a car by car basis. Not sure on that red on red combo, the interior looked good in isolation but when you panned back the shiny red paintwork made the red seats look washed out and almost pinkish. Maybe it was just the camera exposure.
Ive always been a fan of black leather mainly because it hides ageing so much better than leather that has been sprayed a different colour. Beige especially shows all the cracks and wear and tear.
I did refurb the interior of one of my cars, the blue VX220, but I went with a contrasting interior. So I put in black carpeting, then had the seats done half blue alcantara half black leather (with matching blue stitching). As the texture of the alcantara didn't compromise itself vs the gloss paintwork.
Anyway some pic porn for you
I also had the steering wheel redone, made a huge difference to the driving experience, you realise how worn the leather is previously.
So far I have managed to source an oem leather large dash piece (left UK) but it needs painting as its the usual two tone. I thought for the headlight trim piece I would use JF Customs on ebay, like i have before, and wrap it myself. Unfortunately the prices have sky rocketed. I paid about £30 before but now its £82!
So I have made my own, this is my first attempt at doing this btw. I have watched loads of videos so understand the techniques and now just needed to put it into practice. Anyway once I had finished sewing it together I wasn't really very happy with it, I knew where I could improve it, but glued it on anyway just to double check I had measured it all correctly.
After fitting it I am now happy and will keep it how it is.
[ref]Usel[/ref], your looks better than the JF for sure!
Edit I think I’m the proud new owner of the black/blue set pictured. This should go far better with my black interior and champagne seats, over my brushed Aluminium.
A small update, as my time is being stretched in too many different areas at the moment. I ended up making another leather headlight trim and its now installed. The leather stitching position is now a closer match to oem:
I now need to source leather long enough to do the main dash trim and also need to find the time to make it
