Interim Oil change

Tongue in cheek guys, not suggesting you don't change your oil for 115,000 miles. Knock yourself out. :poke:

I cover around 6-8k miles pa and do between 5 and 10 track days a year. I've had my service interval set to half the usual service interval frequency (which is itself governed by fuel consumption anyway). This results in one or two oil changes a year. I also tend to change the oil and have it re-shimmed if I do three or four track day in a short period. Mine is probably serviced far more than it needs, but I was pleased to find that my bearing shells were pristine when I changed them prophylactically at 50k miles. Mine doesn't use a drop of oil despite the somewhat hard life it leads.

Yeah, oil changes what a waste of money.... surely there's some more m-badged stuff I could slap on before doing that :fuelfire:

WHHAAAATTTT!!!! :headbang: all the trouble we used to go through to get the right castrol motorsport oil for M engines in the z3m and z4m and then some suits on the golf course do a deal on the 18th, and suddenly we have all been using the wrong oil, so it was all bollocks all along or what ! wonder what the shell equivalent is :x

I'll be getting close to an oil service by then, maybe Feb, March if I'm really lucky....

I have an oil service in March so will be out of spec for two months.

You're not having the work done at a dealer anyway, are you ? And I am pretty sure your engine won't stop working in Jan unless you change the oil... Or perhaps there are secret telematics :?

Depends if it's an oil service or not, haven't worked out the miles yet.
