hi guys, i thought you'd like to see this.... really interesting clip about the source of the vanos related noises and it seems a solution for the main vanos failure..... i really enjoyed this and gives some great info on whats happening that eventually causes the failure, listen out for those noises and if you get them, deal with it quickly...........

I think the z4m has the newer type bolts that dont backout......... Its one of those things thats completly out of our control........ We just got to forget about it and enjoy our cars, but its nice to be educated about it.

Conflicting info on the bolts I find, but bottom line as I see it any strange noise from vanos then get it liked at.
 
The Z4M only got the new bolts from 2007 (IIRC). In reality they're not that different, just torqued up a bit more
 
Nice video, it finally gives me a clue what people are talking about.
