Intercooler upgrade

No compelling argument for a stock motor in the UK....for a tuned motor much better choices allbeit more expensive

But if it has its gains it’s surely good, basically I’m looking for a primary cat back exhaust system, chargepipe with single BOV, upgraded air filter, and upgraded intercooler to hopefully make the magical 400bhp…
And realise just exhaust and air filter aren’t going to do that…

The difference in the cheaper intercooler than the more expensive ones is that there is more back pressure and therefore it doesn’t flow as quickly, leading to less power than the more expensive intercoolers and increased turbo lag

To get 400bhp you need also to get rid of the primary CATS and remap the engine, I used a COB Accessport where you can alter the tune from standard all the way through Stage 1 & Stage 2+ to give 400bhp

Probably flow worse than stock...MHD OTS tunes don't need much h/w support

Money better spent on a walnut clean..fresh plugs n coils and fresh airfilter

Decat pipes required

I fitted a Wagner intercooler to mine and the fit was spot on. Did it whilst doing oil and filter service to the gearbox. A fair bit more expensive though.

Cavey

Nice thanks for that, didn’t realise quite how restrictive the primaries are in these so yeah will do this thanks for advice
