Just wondering if anyone can help me out, I've got a 2.5 e85 that has been lowered 30mm on eibach springs for a while now. It's just gone in for its MOT and failed on leaky front shocks. I'm pretty sure I've read that the 3.0ltr shocks are exactly the same but 10mm lower, and are a direct fit onto the 2.5ltr. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Its the springs that are different on th3 3.0 mate as UK cars had the M sport set-up as standard.

I'd cross reference the part numbers on www.realoem.com to be sure ref shock differences.

Cheers,

o :)

3.0 was more likely to have M Sport which is 10mm lower than standard but Eibach is lower still. No OEM dampers will suit them properly so you've either got to keep replacing prematurely worn dampers or buy something suited like Bilstein B8.

if the 3.0 shock were exacltly the same but 10mm lower they wouldn't be exactly the same ;)

no, to be serious, the difference is in the springs. 2.5 & 3.0 uses the same shocks, & both use different shocks (& springs) on the M-sport (= lowered) suspension
