i'm from the bay (california)
did some searching.. i'm looking at my options for an intake upgrade.

i've came up with these...

http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/aFe/Air-Intakes/Magnum-Force-Stage-1-Cold-Air-Intake-System-with-Pro_Dry-Synthetic-Oil_Free-Filter-_-51_11061/587166/

and the gruppem intake.. and also racing dynamics.

question is... what are you folks running under your hood? care to show some pictures of your lovely intake setup?

i want something decent and proper.

GruppeM is a hot air intake that loses HP. But it does look nice if you're using it for car shows, SEMA, etc. So is AFE (hot air intake). You'd be better off keeping the OEM intake set-up, which is a cold air intake.

Racing Dynamics - if you're getting the parts here from the USA, it's not the real Racing Dynamics. They're basically ripping off the name and logo of the authentic Racing Dynamics and sell their own parts. The intake shield they sell is crap and pathetic.

If you're interested in actually improving the performance of your Z4, go with either the Streamline intake or Dinan intake. They're true cold air intake set-ups and are proven to work. And you can then combine either with the Dinan air-duct. And then to maximize the potential of the set-up, get either the ESS software or Dinan software.

I was looking for exactly the same thing ! :D

Currently, i'm thinking about getting the Streamline intake coupled with the RPI scoop. I'm not looking for major improvements, i just want to get that little extra power from my engine (if it's cheap, also, that will be better).

What changes/gains can i expect from this setup ?

This baby is a carbon fibre, cold air, Closed induction kit made by RamAir.
the pic shows it fitted to my car and i think it ticks all the boxes :D
