Renewed my insurance today . £214 fully comp.from SAGA - cheap because I'm ancient and live on the IOW. What's with the usual extra £30 or so for Legal protection thingee ? - always paid it in the past but not this time - sounds like a con to me. surely if you have an accident that's not your fault you can argue the case yourself ?
 
i think its more to do with uninsured drivers - if you gave legal protection they will act on your behalf in court to reclaim any costs etc.
 
Eeeek £214 is even cheaper than my £275 but then i do live on Hampshires premier island so expect to pay a little more :poke:
 
i pay 1540 tpft on my 2.5 :/ then again im 22 with 1yncb

but yeah id def pay for legal protection, although 30 quid is a drop in the ocean on my premium.

Have you asked what Fully Comp would be, my son found little or no difference in the additional cost.

You're probably right - its just annoying that its an add on when you have already been given a quote - if its an important issue it should be included in the first place - anyway after my rant I'll pay it - in the great scheme of things its bugger all in comparison to what could be the consequences.
 
Just phoned them up and added it - turns out its only an extra £26 - total now still on £240 ! Bit embarassing joining SAGA although I wish I was just 50 again !!!!!!!!!!1 I will continue to grow old as disgracefully as I can.
 
£260 for me fully comp protected with Admiral and im 36 but have never made a claim since passing my test at 17!!!!
 
There is no rhyme or reason to car insurance, its all a con! No wonder there are thousands of uninsured drivers out there..... :x
 
Just had my renewal quote of over £500 from swiftcover. Seems a lot considering I'm 39 and have only had one claim against me in 21 years! Time to shop about I think...
 
Always worth a check to see if you have legal protection insurance on any other policy as you only need it one!
