Insurance scam?

I don't think that's the reason - it just seems to happen sometimes!

I've been credited with quoting what others have said, and had them quoted as saying what I posted a few times.

Okay update, rang them today and all this worry was to do with the fact that my policy is up for renewal in 3 months time :headbang: and they want to check my details are correct. So sent off my photos and noticed that they had left part of my address off the policy last year. Asked them to change it in case this caused more problems and got charged £20.00. :headbang: Needless to say I have removed my auto payment and will not be using them again for either my Z4 or my van. What a crap company they are.

Well, I wont be using Hastings ever again. What happens about mods on the car, ie different wheels?

You are supposed to declare them but they will normally not charge extra but will probably charge the 'admin fee' for typing three words onto a computer. Unless they are really unusual wheels or handmade, etc.
If you have wheels which were OEM BMW and roughly the same size as from factory, I wouldn't declare them TBH.

Same with changing from run flats to non RFTs. My attitude is as long as I have tyres which are the correct size and legal for the UK roads, it's none of their business. It's not like there is a law saying BMWs have to wear RFTs.

I have no idea where they get their thinking from, I recently read someone having PPF on the car which invalidated the insurance. All the way to the ombudsman and the insurer won, however a second case I read the insurer lost. Very subtle detail on the wording of the question which made it go the other way in those cases but it is madness that it gets to that.

Update, just had my renewal from Hastings and it has gone from £324.37 last year to £547.11. :headbang: Jesus this is a 2.2 se for gods sake not an MR. I will be giving Chris Knott a ring and some others. Hastings can shove it up their arse. I'm sick of them.

Just rang Chris Knott and got a quote for £319.02, so lower than last year and much better than Hastings this year. 8000 mls and includes some business use.

Well, had an email today from Hastings apologising for charging me too much on my car renewal and I was due for a refund  , not fussed as I went to Chris Knott and got a cheaper quote and better service. :D Then shortly after another one telling me to ignore the previous email as I wasn't owed anything   They made a mistake, so glad I don't have my insurance with THEM anymore
