Insurance Renewal

Mine renewal hit the doormat today with Direct Line for a tad high £420 (£300 odd last year).

Went to their website and got a quote for £295 :? I think I shall be phoning them tomorrow sometime.

you guys must be mega old to get such low premiums

i am 36 and have a full no claims discount and my premium comes to £600 on a 6k miles policy

i thought it wasnt too bad at the time considering the car was brand new but am re-thinking it now.... will shop around some more in september when my renewal is due :)

Hey watch the age thing I'm sensitive right now i've turned five-0 :(
I would give RAC a try, I just got mine down to £138 then with the free £50 fuel voucher they currently give that's just £88! On a 2003 2.5SE. 50 yrs old, safe rural post code/occupation, 5k miles, garaged.

My renewal is £222 on the Z4C with Esure..Me 44,missus 39..

8 yrs NCD,£500 excess total.Insured for me and missus who had a fault claim 3 yrs ago.I had a no fault bump 2 yrs ago when a dozy bint hit me whilst i was stationary.

No points for either of us,good postcode (i think)....

Esure have consistantly been the best for a few years now

30 years old and bought new at the same time as you envy. 10k annual, fully comp, esure, small print decent, £250 excess and premium went down to £320 from £450 or so last year. You might get a nice surprise in September like I did!!

My insurance for the ///M is up in two weeks so still waiting on the renewal price....but got an on-line quote from one of the comparison sites for £219!!!

At least it helps to offset the £490 tax due in May :(

Looking to move house this year so I've been looking at this site for the best insurance postcodes:

http://www.visitcars.co.uk/car-insurance/insurance-post-code-risk.html

On a side note, my other half almost got stung with an automatic renwal this week by Elephant. Sneaky so and so's sent the renewal notice by snail mail with a renewal quote of £440, up from £300 ish last year despite no change in circumstances, and with a bit of hunting around I've got a quote for £202 with Admiral Multicar.

Insurance companies should be required to state the price you paid last year imho.

I know right! I had the same thing the other way round, was insuring with Admiral, offered me a terrible renewal figure, up £200 on the previous year. Did online comparison, found Elephant was £100 cheaper than my last premium (so £300 cheaper than the Admiral renewal). At this point I didn't realise they were the same company - I called up Admiral to cancel and they asked what my better quote was - I said it was from Elephant and the girl said that because they were the same company she could offer me the exact same deal without changing my policy!!!!

Renewals are daylight robbery, there needs to be much better consumer protection in that industry.

I just had my renewal notice come through from LV they have always been really competitive for me,
On my 525 it was down £41 this year very happy :grin:on the Z4 it was coming out at £271 which was ok but I thought I would check on comparison sites anyway : couldn't get it lower  but then i did a quote as if i was a new customer on their own website low and behold way cheaper at £240 so i rang them up and with out any quibbling they match the price, £31 saved and the phone call was free :grin::grin:

Si-forks is tapatalking

Just settled a multi car policy with admiral yesterday. Got the gfs lupo covered for 191 (3k miles) and the Z for 550 odd (6k), both protected 8 yrs no claims bonus. Cant wait to move and get a double garage - should almost halve the Z premium! Sick of paying extra because of the local riff raff.

Not a bad sales service from admiral all in all.
