Pretty much impossible to say, too many factors like your age/area/prev history. I'd just whack the details into one of the comparison sites to see if it's ballpark?

Depends on age and NCD too. My 35i costs me £270 a year but I'm 30 with 10yrs NCD.

I use esure for mine.

You're both right, of course.

So, let me change the question. Assuming no change in factors, does insurance go up year on year?

No it should not.

Every insurer I've had renewal with has increased the price, that's what they do. In the hope that you're lazy enough and will simply accept the renewal price. Go online and you'll find a better quote 99% of the time..often saving a lot.

If you stay with the same people they’ll try to ramp it up year on year Buster. Why not try a comparison site? There’s no loyalty with insurance company’s. Or if you’re intent on staying with the same at least get a comparison, which will be cheaper, then go back to AXA and say match this.

I pay £240 a year protected NCB on my 35is. Full no claims bonus.

Just had my insurance renewal through last week on my 35is for £297, last year I paid £222 a price increase of approx. 30% :o a friend of mine who renewed his and the wife's insurance recently said there were big increases on both there premiums

Wow some of your insurance prices are cheap, iirc im paying around £1200 on a 35is @ 23 years old

who do you use Sunnydays? I'm a fair bit more for a 3.0i @22... stings but worth it  :driving:

I'm 67 and I'd willing pay your insurance if I could be 23 again. :D

I wouldnt want to be 23 again - I'm knocking on the door of 70 so a late 40's early 50's would be fine with me and still get decent insurance of all types

The insurance companies have no clue as to what "loyalty" means. Almost every year I change the insurers for both of our cars - one in my name, the other Mrs R's name. Almost without fail the renewal quote from the current insurer has gone up by a lot, but the Meercats find cheaper ones. I ignore the quotes from companies I have never hear of and then if I could save more than £10, then I do.

Given that I have proved to the new insurer that I am disloyal, they then just repeat the mistake their predecessor made in 12 months' time.

As a matter of principle I never invite the current insurer to match the new quote, I just have a ridiculous conversation with their call centre in which I stress upfront I have already committed and paid the new insurer and that they're wasting their time to try to get me to change my min, and then they try to get me to change my mind! On several occasions I have put the phone down and then written an email or letter to them to confirm I'm not renewing with them.

Overall I shouldn't complain about paying about £220 on the Z4MR.

No, I certainly wouldn't complain about that!

Our Forum provider charged me £368.50 at renewal in June for my Z4C!

If you are going to Newlands let me know who you use please!

Every car premium this time around has a price hike that for once is nothing to do with the broker or the underwriter.

Currently if an insured driver gets hit by an uninsured driver the Motor Insurance Bureau pays out compensation. This was funded by a £10 levy on premiums. Bad, but we suck it up and drive on.

An EU ruling with which the UK has no option but to implement says that an uninsured driver that gets hit by an uninsured driver must also be compensated. :x Guess where the money comes from? Some estimate the cost to provide this ridiculous pot is as much as a 14% hike!

Transport secretary Chris Grayling has pledged the UK will scrap this ruling when the UK leaves the EU.

So premiums will come down - won't they........?

Direct Line is worth a look, especially if you have more than one car, they give discounts if you insure your home, cars etc with them. They are excellent at coughing up when needed, which is actually what matters the most..

I also like Direct Line. Have my wife's car with them but not my BMW. They won't touch a car with any mods.
