Insurance renewal - multi car

Pleasantly surprised with the renewal costs using the multi car policy:

- The M was £244 instead of 540 as per renewal from Churchill
- The X5 was £193 instead of £330 from Churchill
- The Abarth was £184 instead of £240 from Churchill
- The Polo was £998 instead of £1200 from Admiral single policy (main driver 18 year old, named driver 17 year old ...)
- The Golf Clipper- £187 instead of £159 but needed the car on the policy to get the others down. Classic insurance by Admiral not that great though.

Excess £150 (+ 250 for young drivers on the Polo).

Legal insurance included as well as FULL European cover, which saves me the £27 each time with Churchill.

Downside - if you have a claim and it is your fault, you have to use their repair centres unless the BMW quote is similar. In practical terms this means that if I have a major prang that is my fault, I have to pay the difference between their shop and BMW. Risk I am willing to take

Each car is independently priced, so a prang does not affect all of them - just the one. Either way, you are supposed to notify your insurance company anyway in case of any damage to any car, at least you dont have to do that then :)

I guess that with Multicar, the renewal might not be as great as the first year but you can pull the car that you dont want out. However, the other premiums go up as well then.

Enough savings for one year, I mean, £244 for a M insurance???

We've got our 3 cars with Admiral multi-car.

My Z4M-R / Main Car
My 3.0 Z4 / Temporary Car (it's up for sale!)
Other half's Civic / Second Car

The 3.0 Z4 has LM reps and Eibachs fitted, think it put the premium up a little, but then they stated that they would only replace with the standard items should I make a claim.

Yes, they told me that as well. If you make mods, they are not covered for replacement which I am not bothered about really.

why should it put the premium up if they will only replace with standard items :?

Because non-stock items could cause changes to the way the car handles, meaning an accident could be more likely, it's all about risk.
