Last year I took a multi car policy with Admiral that was supposed to provide discounts and last year it worked out favourably, as giving the Mini to my wife meant she only had the 2 years NCB Admiral were prepared to give her as a previous named driver on my policy. This year though the renewal has increased and I find that I can get standalone polices for considerably less (even quotes from Admiral for standalone policies were cheaper than the renewal they were after on their multicar policy).
So, the Z4 is now with Dial Direct for £259 a year including RAC breakdown cover and legal assistance, a whole £100 cheaper than Admiral which didn't include breakdown. The Mini is with Axa as my wife can now prove 3 years NCB and it works out over £150 cheaper than Admiral wanted. Results all round
The moral of this story, if there is one: Don't believe all the hype over Multicar polices as, in my case at least, it turns out to be mostly bollox.
