Have cut the middle man out as suggested and gone straight to the insurers. At least I thought they were the insurers, think they are a third party of some kind. They have now contacted Aviva, who are going to contact me about the claim.
No idea where I stand now, wish I'd just paid the damn thing myself :evil:
