Insurance price goes up with tracker fitted?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me why my insurance might go up if i tell them the car has a tracker fitted? It doesn't make any sence to me. This is elephant car insurance we're talking about.

I have stated before ... UK insurance industry needs a major shake up to get back to realism.
 
My previous E60 was ex-demo with tracker. I could not save any money unless I paid a lifetime subscription (one-off) to Tracker and kept the car long enough.

My colleague's son had a M3 E92 with Tracker Monitor, the car was stolen and never recovered. What's the point? You better get a shortfall insurance/RPI, etc to cover it.
